About Donna

Donna grew up as a United Methodist “PK” (preacher’s kid).  Her father answered the call to ministry when she was just 18 months old.  She knew at a very young age that she would also serve others. She was a spunky kid always into mischief, but ALWAYS for the underdog. Donna has a heart for others, especially youth. Her lifelong vision has been to see youth excel to their greatest potential.

Donna earned a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Western Kentucky University in 1987 and a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, also from Western Kentucky University, in 1998.  She has devoted over 30 years to human services and substance prevention, having worked with individuals and groups of all ages.  She authored Pulling Dead Daisies a handbook for helping others process through the end of personal relationships, and most recently, a guidebook for developing successful teams or coalitions titled Team of the Year. Donna shares from her professional experiences and life lessons in her writing.

Donna cannot hide her love for God, her unbelievably positive outlook on life, nor her love for helping others succeed.  She is best known for her encouraging and magnetic personality, as well as, her ability to find a learning opportunity in every situation.  Donna encourages others to always process through emotions, to learn from the life lessons, and move forward with high expectations.

Team-building and developing youth and adult coalitions is one of Donna’s greatest strengths. She successfully developed and sponsored youth coalitions in western Kentucky for more than 25 years. She supports and educates other coalition sponsors and has collaborated with local, regional, state, and national agencies to promote positive youth choices and healthy living.

Donna has been truly blessed with an amazing family and she has enjoyed an enriching career. In this season of her life, Donna’s mission is to motivate and prepare sponsors and coalitions, youth and adult, to be The Team of the Year!
